Source: Coyotes, Alex Goligoski Agree To New Five-Year Deal

The Arizona Coyotes and free-agent defenseman Alex Goligoski have agreed to a five-year contract, according to a source.

The Coyotes acquired the negotiating rights to Goligoski in a trade last week with the Dallas Stars for a fifth-round pick in this week's draft.

Hall of Fame defenseman Scott Stevens has returned to coaching as an assistant for the Minnesota Wild.

The Wild hired Stevens on Tuesday to join coach Bruce Boudreau's staff, adding one of the game's most feared players to the mix. The 52-year-old didn't coach last season, working instead as an analyst for NHL Network.

Isles, Casey Cizikas Agree On Five-Year Deal

The Islanders have agreed to terms with forward Casey Cizikas on a five-year contract extension worth $16.75 million, the team announced Thursday.

Agent Mark Guy confirmed the terms of the deal in an email to The Associated Press.

Cizikas will count $3.35 million against the salary cap through the 2020-21 NHL season. He was at $1 million on his previous contract.

The 25-year-old set a career high in points last season with 30 on eight goals and 22 assists for the Islanders, who made the playoffs.
